Spend a full day enjoying Nordic walking/hiking on peaceful nature trails, an aquafitness class in a refreshing pool, an outdoor stretch/yoga class, a delicious catered lunch & more. Wrap up your visit relaxing by the water and enjoying the view, or curl up in a plush chair and breathe in the fresh country air.

Hosted at a beautiful 30-acre country estate—adjacent to the Bruce Trail & Mono Cliffs Provincial Park—approximately 90 minutes north of Toronto.

What's Included

  • Nordic walk/hike on the Bruce Trail &/or Mono Cliffs Provincial Park

  • yoga/stretch class (beginner/intermediate level)

  • aquafitness class (beginner/intermediate level)

  • fresh & healthy catered vegetarian lunch, snacks & cold drinks

  • access to large swimming pool

  • access to indoor & outdoor hot showers

  • sunny & shady areas for relaxing, eating & socializing

  • direct access to all hikes & activities once you arrive. (No driving necessary!)

What's Not Included

  • transportation to & from the venue

What to Bring

  • Nordic walking or hiking poles (or borrow from me)

  • hat, sunglasses, backpack/waistpack, water bottle

  • yoga mat

  • bathing suit, pool towel, showering towel

  • toiletries (sunscreen, shampoo, etc.)

What to Wear

  • clothes/shoes suitable for Nordic walking/hiking & also comfortable enough for yoga/stretching

More Details

  • This day is not designed for superstar athletes! However, it will be a full day with lots of activity, so a good basic fitness level is required.

  • This is the perfect event for you if you are a friendly, cheerful, easygoing person who enjoys making new friends & who loves an outdoorsy lifestyle.

  • This will be an active but relaxing day. We will accomplish lots, but all without rushing.

  • The start & finish times have been set to help participants miss the height of rush hour.

  • There is plenty of parking, however carpooling is encouraged. (it’s better for the environment, of course, but it’s also more fun to ride up with someone :). ) Need a ride? Let me know, & I will connect you with a participant who is driving.

 

Who am I?

I'm Barb Gormley, a long-time group exercise instructor, Nordic walking master trainer, trainer of fitness trainers, & lover of the outdoors. I've designed & led numerous retreats for the general public & fitness professionals. I've acted as a physical activity consultant for universities, hospitals & corporations for well over three decades. I'm thankful every day to be in a happy & healthy occupation that has a positive & immediate impact on people's health and wellbeing.
